Midlothian

Currently, Midlothian has 6 secondary schools, 30 primary schools (19 of which have nurseries) and 2 stand alone nursery schools. Our special school, Saltersgate, provides support for children with a range of physical, social, emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties. The schools range in size from our smallest primary school with around 20 children to our largest secondary with over 1500 pupils. We have a diverse range of school catchments, from rural to urban settings. We are fortunate to have a growing number of new build schools, with 13 of our primary schools and 1 secondary having been built within the last 10 years and several new builds planned.

Based at Newbattle High School, Dalkeith, you will support our Pupil Support and House Teams across the school. You will be working with pupils on an individual and group based need. You will be part of the wider pastoral and inclusion team within school.

Fully trained jobholders must hold a minimum SVQ3 level qualification in Youth Work, or equivalent subject, and have experience leading youth activities.

Youth Worker (B) Experienced jobholders who have not yet attained the SVQ3 level qualification in Youth Work but are currently studying towards it will be paid at SCP 35.

Youth Worker (A) jobholders who can demonstrate literacy and numeracy equivalent to standard grade level 3 and who have considerable youth work experience will be paid at SCP 31.

Based on you working 35 hours over 39 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £22,568.46 per annum.
