As part of the Council’s response the Tackling Poverty Team is being enhanced to deliver a ‘Cost of Living Helpline’ for residents of North Lanarkshire. Therefore, the Tackling Poverty Team are looking to recruit a range of staff to assist with the Helpline and to backfill some posts of recent promoted staff.

Based across North Lanarkshire you will be responsible for the efficient administration and provision of initial advice and information on debt advice and money management to the general public.

It is essential that you are educated to SVQ3 or HNC level and be able to demonstrate an extended period of relevant work experience. You should also possess good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills and have proven numeracy skills. You should have experience of dealing with people, individually, or in groups; be able to work on your own initiative and, on occasion, outwith normal working hours. Previous experience in money advice, debt counselling or fair trading would be advantageous.

The ability to travel throughout North Lanarkshire is essential.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
