Based in Coatbridge Hub, St Andrew’ s High, Coatbridge, you will be responsible for developing and implementing economic development initiatives with a specific focus on employability projects that will assist unemployed residents of North Lanarkshire. You will engage with local employers to promote North Lanarkshire’s Working, manage North Lanarkshire’s Working partner activities, and will represent North Lanarkshire Council at external meetings and events.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have moderate experience of working in an economic development environment, experience of developing and managing projects and preferably have good experience of employer engagement and employability. With excellent communication and organisational skills, you will have the ability to network with key agencies and partner organisations, ability to share information and knowledge, work with a variety of people, and be able to interpret and report information in a clear and precise manner. You will also be able to demonstrate your partnership and collaborative working skills, along with your ability to develop strategic approaches to economic development issues. You must have budget management and monitoring experience, whilst knowledge of European and other funding sources and contract management and procurement experience are desirable. A self-motivated individual, you will have good presentation skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
You must be able to travel throughout the area of North Lanarkshire.
