This specialist role will have a primary focus on the management, improvement and development of the Council's road signage asset network. Working within a dynamic and forward-thinking team, you will play a key role in developing and delivering capital-funded investment programmes aimed at upgrading, renewing and enhancing road signs and associated traffic management assets across North Lanarkshire.
You will be responsible for the identification, development and delivery of signage asset renewal and improvement programmes, ensuring that a risk-based asset management approach is at the heart of service delivery. The successful candidate will support the ongoing management of the Council's extensive road signage portfolio, helping to maintain compliance, improve network safety and enhance the overall condition and performance of the asset.

Applicants must possess a comprehensive understanding of the legislative and regulatory framework governing traffic signs in the United Kingdom, including the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions (TSRGD), the Traffic Signs Manual and associated standards, guidance and best practice.
You will be innovative, customer focused and adaptable, with the ability to manage changing priorities and deliver positive outcomes. Possessing strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, you will have experience of asset management, road safety and lifecycle investment planning, together with the ability to prepare technical reports and project documentation.
With excellent IT, written and verbal communication skills, you will be proficient in Microsoft Office and asset management systems, and able to work effectively with customers, elected members, contractors and other stakeholders while promoting the Council's vision, values and reputation.
A current UK driving licence is essential for this post.
