Project Manager (Investment Team - Design)

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Project Manager within Enterprise & Communities (Investment Department), who currently operate hybrid model of home-working, site and office-based locations within North Lanarkshire. You will be required to travel throughout North Lanarkshire to undertake the duties of this post. The service plays a key role in the ongoing development and delivery of North Lanarkshire Council’s ambitious Housing Strategy with integral links to the delivery of Tower Strategy programme.

North Lanarkshire Council, as one of Scotland’s largest local authorities, is delivering exciting and ambitious programmes for its existing housing stock and surrounding areas. Working with a variety of partners, the Housing Property and Projects Team has a key role in guiding this regeneration towards sustainable development.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to join to our multi-disciplinary design/project management team. You will be responsible for the delivery of capital projects and the management of a range of in-house professional / technical staff and monitoring of external partners. These will include housing investment projects within the estate relating to tower blocks, sheltered & homeless accommodation, and mainstream housing, as we strive to deliver innovative solutions to meet current/future challenges.

You will have sound knowledge of Project Management, Construction, Building Standards and related legislation together with experience and an understanding of the construction industry. Along with excellent IT skills, you must have the ability to achieve solutions to design related problems.

Reporting to the Programme Delivery Manager within the Design team, we’re looking to recruit a dynamic, confident, and highly motivated individual to lead and manage housing related project activities across multiple projects and programmes that will maximise utilisation and efficiency.

You will have the opportunity to use your construction background to develop projects and support/lead a team getting involved in significant programmes of work and directly contribute towards the council’s ambition to make North Lanarkshire the place to Live, Learn, Work, Invest, and Visit - a place where there is a shared ambition that defines all of our work with communities, stakeholders and partners for inclusive growth and prosperity for all.

Our projects are to be delivered in accordance with the RIBA Plan of Work and North Lanarkshire Councils governance and risk strategies.

With a degree/SVQ4/HND in Project Management / Architecture / Quantity Surveying or relevant subject, you will have substantial knowledge and experience in a relevant field.
