Senior Social Worker (Justice)

NLC13 £46,926 – £51,435

Monday - Friday 35hrs

Monday - Thursday (8:45am - 4:45pm) (55minute break)

Friday (8:45 - 4:15pm) (50 minute break)

We are looking for an experienced and creative practitioner or manager to join our prison based Social Work team at HMP Shotts. You will have line management responsibility for a team of Social Workers within HMP Shotts and you will contribute to the delivery of Justice Services across North Lanarkshire.

Senior Social Workers provide professional leadership and help us retain our high level of performance and service delivery. Your priorities will be to deliver a high-quality statutory service whilst working collaboratively with the Scottish Prison Service, external agencies and colleagues across Education & Families and Adult Social Work.

You will require strong leadership skills to lead and motivate employees to ensure a culture of effective service delivery and focus on quality outcomes are delivered.

Significant post qualifying experience is essential including experience in a relevant discipline. A track record of successful inter agency working, leadership skills together with knowledge of risk assessment and risk management frameworks are essential as are excellent verbal and written skills.

You must have a CQSW/DipSW or equivalent, along with significant post qualifying experience in Social Work and be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

As there is a requirement to access ViSOR (the Violent and Sex Offender Register) will require clearance at Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 2.
