Surveyor (Valuation)

NLC10/12 (£36,073 - £46,926)

(Appointment beyond salary point £42,662 will be dependent on the post holder having full membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)

Are you pragmatic and highly motivated to achieve your goals? Do you want to be involved in one of the key transformation projects within North Lanarkshire Council?

Based at Civic Centre, Windmillhill Street, Motherwell, you will be part of a team who are responsible for the provision of asset valuations, insurance reinstatement cost assessments, rating valuation, identification of surplus assets and property performance management together with other tasks related to effective asset management practices.

The team are also responsible for the collation of building survey data, mechanical and electrical data to assess the condition of the Council’s assets which is in turn used to inform the Council’s future capital programme.

An excellent communicator, you must have a degree level qualification, or equivalent, in a property related subject and full membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or similar professional organisation is advantageous. You should have substantial experience in valuation of rental and capital values for asset register purposes and familiarity with property management systems would be beneficial.

You will be self-motivated, have excellent IT and interpersonal skill and a focused approach to customer service and service delivery. You will be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and have the ability to work to performance standards and deadlines.

You must hold a current driver’s licence as you will be expected to travel throughout the area of North Lanarkshire Council.
