We are looking for Early Years Practitioners to join our team in the above Early Learning and Childcare setting.

This is an exciting time for early learning and childcare, and we are looking for enthusiastic people who would enjoy being part of a team to help deliver flexible, high-quality care that meets the needs of children aged 6 months to 3 years.

To be appointed at G5:
You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy and a minimum of 2 years work or volunteering experience involving children.

You are also required to achieve an HNC in Childhood Practice, SVQ Level 3 (SCQF7) Social Services (Children and Young People) or other recognised qualification that enables registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner (Day Care of Children) within 3 years of taking up post.

To be appointed at G6:
You are required to hold an HNC in Childhood Practice, SVQ Level 3 (SCQF7) Social Services (Children and Young People) or other recognised qualification that enables registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner (Day Care of Children). You are also required to have at least one years' experience of working with young children in a dedicated Early Learning and Childcare setting (this may be in a training or student role).

For both appointment grades, you should also be registered with the SSSC as a Practitioner (Day Care of Children) no later than 6 months from commencing in post.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

These posts are subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
