Quarry Operative

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Permanent
£24,553 - £25,614 (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Applications are invited for a full time post of Quarry Operative at Cursiter Quarry, Firth.

The successful candidate will require a flexible attitude to work with the ability to work at precise levels and a willingness to undertake a variety of duties. These duties will include operational duties in support of the delivery of quarrying services as well as operating and maintaining plant machinery.

Experience of working with the public will be essential. In addition to the normal range of duties you must be able to undertake standby duties and winter maintenance works as required. This will involve out of hours working, for which an appropriate overtime or standby payment will be made and may be on either a planned rota or relief basis.

Experience of driving or operating quarry plant, including loaders or dump trucks or other mobile plant experience is essential.

A full current driving licence is also essential.
