Perth & Kinross Council - Property is looking for an Architectural Technologist / Technician to work alongside other Architectural and Construction professionals in our multi-disciplinary office.

You will have the skills and qualification to provide architectural technical support for the development and delivery of a range of Projects, of varying scope and complexity, throughout RIBA Stages 1-7.

A key aspect of the role is the production of technical drawings and specifications to support low carbon design and where applicable, to achieve Passivhaus accredited certification. 

You will carry out surveys, prepare drawings and specifications, utilising Revit / CAD/ BIM software, including NBS and other associated Council software systems and applications.  You will prepare, co-ordinate information and submit Statutory applications, including responding to queries arising, to obtain Statutory approval(s).

There will be the opportunity to administer small Projects, with supervision, to learn and manage the delivery process, associated tasks and construction process, to achieve handover.  Thereafter, responding to defects/rectification period issues to close-out the Project.

The Individual

You will be educated to HNC/HND level in Building/Architectural Technology.

You must hold the requisite qualification and have an appreciable level of experience gained within a Construction/Property Office to evidence a wide range of work undertaken.

You will be proficient in AutoCAD/Revit, have knowledge of Passivhaus design/delivery principles including BIM systems, and an understanding of the Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM).

It is expected you will have well-developed written, oral and presentation skills, and the ability to communicate confidently, clearly and precisely with a wide and varied “audience”. You will treat others with dignity and respect.

You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
