We are looking for an Auxiliary to work within Harriet Court Sheltered Housing in Blairgowrie to carry out cleaning duties. You may be asked to work in other units within Perth and Kinross area to cover holidays and sickness. You will also work closely with the Housing Support Officers within the sheltered and retirement units to ensure that the best possible service is provided to our tenants. You will work 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday working a total of 15 hours per week. These hours are generally in the mornings but there may be a requirement for afternoon working to meet the demands of the service. You will be expected to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in communal and external areas within Sheltered Housing Units and retirement sites. This is even more important because of the pandemic and the COVID-related measures in relation to infection control. You should have a good understanding of Health and Safety and will need to ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations. You will assist the Housing Support Officer with activities or social events.

The Individual

We are looking for the successful candidate to meet the following criteria: Have cleaning experience and be able to cope with the demands of the role as it can be physically demanding; Have a good knowledge of Health and safety principles and good practice; Demonstrate confidentiality and integrity of all Council information; Have experience of working with cleaning materials and ideally have undertaken CoSHH training; Be able to treat all colleagues and customers with dignity and respect and be sensitive to the needs of older people; Gives a high priority to customer satisfaction; Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Be flexible and able to prioritise constant and often conflicting demands; Have a willingness to travel to units throughout Perth and Kinross to provide holiday and sickness cover when required; Be willing to learn and adapt to new situations and working methods; Work as part of a wider team and make a meaningful contribution to the team
