Job Description

Depute Head Teacher (Secondary) (2 posts) - PKC10278
£68,742
Perth Grammar School

Perth Grammar School is looking for two committed and enthusiastic Depute Head Teachers to lead us into our next phase as an improving school.

As a Senior Leadership Team (SLT) member at Perth Grammar you will be key to leading our school vision to become an outstanding learning community with the highest expectation of and aspirations for all learners.

Should you become Depute Head Teacher with responsibility for Support for Pupils you will lead our approaches to child protection and support inclusive, collaborative learning.  Alternatively, as a Depute Head Teacher School Improvement we are looking for someone who can drive evidence informed practice utilising data.  An overview of current remits can be found here. Our Depute Head Teachers are expected to be flexible in terms of remit thus building capacity and expertise and so the right people will determine the post on this occasion by means of School Improvement and / or Support for Pupils focus.

The continuous development of excellent learning, teaching and classroom practice which enthuse our children and young people is pivotal.  Through a range of increasingly valuable and engaging learning experiences that build learners’ skills we continue to strive to raise attainment and achievement through our commitment to our ‘PGS 5 features of high-quality learning and teaching’ and ‘ambition agenda’.

The ideal candidates will be dynamic, motivated and able to demonstrate true initiative in getting it right for the children and young people of Perth Grammar School.  A commitment to our core values of ‘Pride, Respect, Ambition’ is also essential. We aim to encourage and support our learners to flourish as young global citizens with the skills, knowledge and attitudes that will enable them to adapt and thrive in life, learning and work.

Everything we do is geared towards our ethos, curriculum, the opportunities we offer for qualifications and other achievements, the learning approaches we encourage, the activities we offer out of school and beyond the normal school day and the changes we make to the buildings and grounds.

If you are resilient and assertive in ensuring that With Pride, We Respect, With Ambition, We Strive then we would welcome an application from you.
