New Rannoch Centre, Perth
New Rannoch is a busy and vibrant day centre in the North Muirton area of Perth, that supports older people to lead active and valued lives.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Driver /Handyperson to join the team at New Rannoch Day Centre. You must have a full UK driving licence preferably with D1 entitlement and be willing to undertake MIDAS driver training.
The centre is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5.00 pm and you will be expected to work split shifts between these hours. As well as transporting our clients on the minibus, the role also includes basic vehicle maintenance, various ancillary duties and core health and safety checks within the centre. You will carry out regular fire safety checks i.e. alarm, emergency lighting and visual checks on firefighting equipment. Ordering and stock control of cleaning materials.
You will carry out daily checks of the building and report any defects to manager and maintenance department.
You will work with domestic staff to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in and around the centre and its grounds.
The role is 28.5 hours per week Monday to Friday working a split shift, typically 5.45 hours 4 days per week, and one at 5.30 hours. Hours of work would typically be 8.30am - 11.00am and 1.30 pm- 4.45pm, however these times may change to accommodate the needs of the service.
The Individual
We are seeking a friendly, motivated, enthusiastic and reliable person.
Ideally you will have experience of working with older people and supporting people with dementia and members of the public.
The successful applicant will be committed to undertake a comprehensive training programme which will include Health and Safety, First Aid, Handling and Moving and MIDAS diver training.
You must be motivated, reliable and flexible in your approach.
