We are recruiting for our Graduate Programme where you will directly involved in projects which support upgrade and improvement of Building Services within the PKC Property Estate such as schools, leisure centres, offices and care facilities.

Opportunities exist in the following area:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Graduate within Perth & Kinross Council.  The post will form part of the Energy and Engineering Team within Property Services.

The role will require the design of mechanical services infrastructure and building related works within the council’s operational buildings.

The works are anticipated to be carried out during normal working hours; however there may be instances when the post holders will be required to work out with these hours to minimise disruption for end users.  There is also an expectation that the post-holder will work on other Mechanical Infrastructure projects such as replacement /new mechanical systems including, heating, plumbing, ventilation and associated controls.

An additional part of the role will be the requirement to meet future energy reduction targets and have the ability to incorporate low and zero carbon technologies into all designs and proposals providing a cost-effective energy efficient solution.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to use computer aided energy modelling packages such as IES VE, Autocad, Revit and Stabicad.

Previous experience of these software packages would be advantageous but not essential as training will be given.

For purposes of connection and collaboration with colleagues and with the community we serve, our full-time employees work on site for a minimum of 2 days per week with the arrangements for part time employees being agreed on a basis which will ensure that they benefit to an equivalent degree.

The Individual

You will have graduated to degree level in Building Services or a related discipline.

We are looking for an individual who has a keen interest in Building Services – specifically in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering and are looking to start their career within the industry.

You should be self-motivated and confident with excellent communication skills to establish good working relationships.

To succeed in this role you must also be enthusiastic, have drive, determination, an interest in low carbon technologies and care about climate change.   

You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
