Peripatetic Teacher of English as an Additional Language 0.7FTE (Fixed Term until 31 March 2025) - PKC11348
£32,217 - £48,516 (pro-rata)
Based at North Inch Community Campus, Perth

A Teacher of English as an Additional Language (EAL) is required for supporting EAL learners in primary & secondary schools.  You will be required to travel to various locations within the Perth & Kinross Council area.

As Teacher of EAL, you will support bilingual pupils and their teachers in primary and secondary schools across Perth and Kinross.
 
•    Teaching will include individual support, co-operative/partnership teaching and small group collaborative learning.
•    Assessing, recording and reporting the progress of bilingual learners, in partnership with class/subject teachers.
•    Preparation of differentiated material to enable bilingual pupils to access to the curriculum.
•    Providing advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education.
•    Promoting and safeguarding the health, welfare and safety of pupils
•    Working in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals
•    Undertaking appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.
•    Contribution to staff development.
•    Promotion of bilingualism and multiculturalism within schools.

The Individual

You must have a current UK driving licence and access to a car as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across the Perth & Kinross Council area. 

You will have significant experience of working as a class teacher in mainstream primary and/or secondary schools in Scotland.

Previous experience of supporting EAL learners would be desirable.
