An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and committed Principal Teacher to join our dedicated teams at Balbeggie and Collace Primary Schools.

The role includes:

  • Supporting the delivery of school improvement priorities, with a strong focus on learning and teaching.
  • Working collaboratively to embed inclusive, needs led approaches to learning, teaching and assessment.
  • Driving improvement in outcomes for learners, with a particular emphasis on attainment, achievement.
  • Using data and professional judgement to support planning and whole school development.
  • Working effectively with parents, carers and partner agencies in line with GIRFEC principles.
  • Modelling and promoting our school values: Respected, Included, Nurtured, Ambitious and Resilient.

This post is based at:

Balbeggie Primary School, 1 Armadale Crescent, Perth, PH2 6EP and Collace Primary School, Kirkton of Collace, Perth, PH2 6HU.  These schools have a shared headship.

Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for an experienced and inspirational middle leader who demonstrates:

  • A proven track record of improving outcomes for children and young people.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience of managing, coaching or supporting staff.
  • A clear understanding of PKC Staged Intervention, inclusive practice and needs led planning.
  • Excellent practice in supporting learners.
  • Experience of improving attainment and achievement for learners.
  • The ability to think strategically and contribute to whole school improvement
  • Confidence in working collaboratively with staff, parents, carers and multi-agency partners.
  • A positive, reflective and values driven ethos.

You will be an inspiring classroom practitioner with a thorough understanding of effective pedagogical approaches that engage, challenge and support learners to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will demonstrate high expectations for all learners and a strong commitment to equity, inclusion and excellence.

You will be skilled in using data and self-evaluation to inform improvement planning and will have the ability to motivate and support both young people and colleagues to achieve ambitious outcomes.

Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential.

The successful applicant will foster positive and respectful relationships with pupils, staff, parents/carers and partner agencies, contributing to a culture where all members of the school community feel valued, supported and empowered to succeed.

The successful candidate will hold appropriate teaching qualifications and be fully registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).
