Almondbank House, Lewis Place, Perth

We have a vacancy for a Social Worker in a busy adoption team. The team covers the whole of the Perth and Kinross Council Area.

Our team has five main responsibilities. These are:

This is a child care post in the Adoption Team. The team’s child care workers are responsible for children who are approved as requiring permanent substitute care by the Fostering and Permanence panel where the intention is to achieve adoption. They have a dual role of progressing the legal process through the Children’s Hearing system and Court system (Permanence Order with Authority to Adopt and then Adoption Order), whilst undertaking family finding and preparation work with children and supporting them throughout the adoption process and thereafter as appropriate. They undertake all other statutory responsibilities related to looked after children and young people. You may also be involved in the provision of adoption support and adoption counselling.
