A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a community based Social Care Officer to join the 'Friends Unlimited Network' team within Perth and Kinross Councils Learning Disability services. The Friends Unlimited Network primarily operates during the evenings and weekends, providing individuals with a learning disability over the age of 16 the opportunity to access their community and build meaningful social connections with their peers.
Based within the Kinnoull Community Day Opportunities team you will be responsible for planning and facilitating group activities for individuals by creating a monthly calendar of events. These groups and activities will support individuals to maintain their personal interests whilst building social networks in the community. The hours of this post are flexible, and you will be responsible for managing your own time each week to cover the planning and facilitation of activities. This will be a mix of daytime working to plan and prepare for activities (Can be office based or home working), and in person facilitation of activities during the evenings and weekends. We will also allocate time for you to work within the Kinnoull Community Day Opportunities team on a weekly basis to support you to maintain social connections within the team.
The Successful candidate should be highly motivated and creative, with great communication skills including verbal, non verbal and written. Good IT and organisational skills are essential for this post. You must be able to work well on your own initiative and be willing to work flexibly including daytime, evening and weekend working. You should have experience of working with vulnerable adults who have learning or physical disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions or other varied needs.

A full driving licence and a willingness to drive Perth and Kinross Council vehicles is desirable for this post.
