We are seeking to recruit a Clerk of Works to work within our Housing Investment team which delivers our capital investment programmes to ensure our housing stock continues to meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS) and the Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing (EESSH).

 

Reporting to the Assistant Housing Project Manager, you will provide the full range of services for our external investment projects, including surveys and site management. You will be responsible for onsite liaison with our contractors and provide guidance and assistance on all aspects of the external works before practical completions are sought.

 

You must have a recognised qualification in building construction with a City and Guilds (or equivalent) in a relevant building trade.

With a background in construction, you will have experience of managing large scale building projects and have sound knowledge of building and construction works, processes, trades and techniques and knowledge of legislation and regulations governing building and property, including health and safety regulations relating to construction work. You must have effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work on your own initiative; communicate at all levels; have a flexible and customer focused approach and be able to attend meetings outwith normal office hours.

A full current driving licence is essential.

Membership of the Institute of Clerk of Works is desirable.
