This is an exciting time to join the Service Development Team within Environment, Housing and Infrastructure to support the Waste and Recycling Service Management Team. 

 

This role will maintain and develop systems and applications for service optimisation, mobile technology, performance management and customer contact within all areas of the Waste and Recycling Service.  

 

You will oversee all requests and enquiries received by the Service including issuing responses and investigating and drafting responses to more complete enquiries. 

 

Working closely with others you will ensure that processes and systems are effective, efficient, customer focused and continuously improving.  You will support the Waste and Recycling Management Team to establish key performance indicators for the service and to manage their implementation, being an advocate for change within the service area. 

 

HNC, SVQ or relevant appropriate qualification is essential together with significant experience of working in a waste and recycling service, extensive experience using waste and recycling systems and data interpretation to support service improvement and experience of responding to enquiries, investigations, significant experience of responding to enquiries and Freedom of Information (FoI) requests and undertaking investigations to resolve complex cases. 

  

You will be able to work in a logical and consistent manner following existing detailed procedures and have a working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications or equivalent and are keen to learn new applications and technology.  Effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to speak to, and advise, a wide range of stakeholders is essential.  

 

It is also essential you have the ability to manage and implement change, influencing and working well with colleagues, Elected Members and customers, you are able to maintain complex data sets and control IT applications in accurate and consistent ways and have the ability to be trained in using specialist IT systems and to apply training and specialist knowledge. 

 

You must be willing and able to travel across the Renfrewshire to all waste and recycling locations and other council sites as required.

 

Knowledge of wider ICT systems such as mapping, performance management and audit is desirable. 

 

Driving Licence and experience of health and safety and / or condition inspections relating to waste and recycling services is also desirable.
