This is an exciting time to be joining Renfrewshire Council. We are looking to recruit a Lead Officer for our Road and Streetlighting Operations. You will be responsible for managing the highly visible frontline roads and streetlighting operations service.
We are looking for someone, who is enthusiastic with the skills and experience to deliver our ambitious agenda to provide maximum economic and environmental benefit for Renfrewshire. You will have a passion for providing high quality services to the public and driving service improvements and organisational change.
Based at Underwood Road Depot, Paisley you will, as part of a team, undertake skilled operations in the maintenance of roads, footways and drains, and work with plant and equipment and digital technology.
You must have a Degree or relevant appropriate professional qualification or evidence of professional competence and skill, experience of road operations within a large and diverse organisation, a proven track record in financial management, experience of managing and controlling budgets across a range of service areas and experience of formulating and implementing operational plans within a large and complex organisation.
It is essential you have an understanding of customer service delivery and the importance of delivering customer focused services, knowledge of the statutory and legislative requirements of the service, relevant national and local programmes and frameworks and operational knowledge of large goods vehicle operator license requirements.
You will have had experience in managing a frontline service, delivering change in a similar environment, you will be highly motivated and have effective organisational, time management, influencing, negotiation, project management, presentation and communication skills.
You will be required to participate in the Services Winter Maintenance and Summer standby service to ensure the Council has an effective response to weather conditions.
