Based within the community and the Mile End Centre we are looking to recruit a Senior Home Support Worker to our Care at Home Team.

 

You will be responsible for supervising home support staff, provide day to day support and guidance to staff to ensure the service is delivered to a high standard and meets the needs of vulnerable service users in the Renfrewshire area.

 

Responsibilities of the post include to monitor and develop key competencies through mentoring and coaching home support staff, direct observation of practise, carry out first line stage of Support Attendance at Work procedure, hold regular meetings with your staff team and highlight any area of concern to your line manager regarding service user and staff requirements and training needs.

 

It is essential that you have experience of working in a care setting and delivering intimate personal or in an informal or personal capacity, Knowledge of Care Service and National Care Standards and issues affecting service users and an awareness of health and safety issues in relation to medication, moving and assistance.

 

Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential, and you must be well organised and have an ability to motivate and support your team. Competent in the use of ICT including MS Office Packages and Council Systems is also essential.

 

You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within 6 months of your start date. Possession of or Willing to work towards achieving SVQ level 2 or SCQF level 6 or HNC.

 

Certificate in Social Care & SVQ level 3 or equivalent are desirable.

 

You must also be flexible to work on a shift rota that includes evening and weekends.
