Based at various locations throughout Renfrewshire, you will supervise a team of Sheltered Housing Officers in the delivery of a modern, responsive service, as well as working as part of the team to provide advice, assistance, and support to all tenants within our 11 sheltered complexes.

 

 

Your duties will include providing support to tenants to meet their identified needs in a way which respects their dignity and promotes maximum independence and you will promote the policies and procedures of Renfrewshire Council and the National Care Standards in relation to housing support for older adults. The client group will include older people with physical and mental health care needs, as well as older adults with learning disabilities and you will therefore have an awareness of Adult Protection procedures and other relevant legislation.

 

 

It is essential that you have a qualification that meets the Scottish Social Services Council registration criteria eg SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification at Level 6 (Scottish Credit & Qualification Framework) or above.

 

 

You must have experience of clerical/administrative work including budgetary and record keeping, effective supervision of staff; providing a support service to older people or people with a disability and liaising with a wide range of agencies.

 

 

A knowledge of services provided by a local authority and needs of older people is essential with the ability to work on your own, use your initiative when making decisions, effective interpersonal, communication skills, have a responsible approach to sensitive information and must be flexible and able to work on a shift rota including evenings and weekends.

 

 

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 6 Months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
