We are looking for a highly motivated, hardworking, creative and proactive individual to make a positive contribution in assisting the development and delivery of our sports service team.
The ideal candidate will be a good communicator with strong organisational skills, a ‘can do’ attitude, the ability to work independently and to a high standard under pressure to meet deadlines. It is important to us that the candidate is nurturing and able to form strong relationships with our pupils, staff and families.
Reporting to the School’s Head Teacher and Active Schools and Community Club Lead officer, key responsibilities include:
- Working closely with the Active Schools Coordinators, Sports Development Officers, School Staff, National Governing Body Development Managers, local clubs and all other relevant departments.
- Recruit and support volunteers to support the schools and their extracurricular programme.
- Assist with the coordination and development of school sport opportunities in schools and the wider community.
- Working with OneRen Sport and Health Services staff and external agencies to provide additional opportunities for physical education, e.g. Bikeability, Health Week, etc.
You must be educated to HND level in appropriate qualification or equivalent, have extensive experience of working in a school, community or sports development environment, engaging with children, young people and volunteers in school sport. You must also be able to clearly demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the priorities and outcomes for active schools, sport development and school improvement plan. Experience of successful partnerships with a range of partners including Scottish Governing Bodies of Sport Education, Active Schools and Sports Development is also essential as are good IT skills, experience of using Word, Excel and Power Point.
Successful candidates must have a flexible approach regarding hours worked to suit the needs of the role.
