Role Purpose
The successful candidate will lead and manage the continued successful development of the school and ensure the safety of all pupils. They will conduct the affairs of the schools to the benefit of the pupils and the community it serves through pursuing objectives and implementing policies set by the education authority under the overall direction of the Service Director of Education and Lifelong Learning.
Essential
A degree (or equivalent) or diploma in primary education (or PGCE/PGDE) along with strong evidence of continued personal professional development
Full registration with the General Teaching Council (of Scotland)
Evidence of personal commitment to management and leadership development
As of 1st August 2020 all successful candidates appointed to a permanent Headteacher role in Scotland are required to hold the Standard for Headship, through completion of the Scottish Qualification for Headship (SQH), Flexible Route to Headship (FRH) or Into Headship. For those appointed, who do not yet hold the Standard for Headship, you will be required to complete the Into Headship qualification within 30 months of appointment
