An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Modern Apprentice within our Business Support Team with the Children & Families Duty Team in Galashiels. The successful candidate will be trained on a range of clerical tasks within the team whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

Role Purpose

To provide a range of clerical support to the business, operational and administrative teams within the Children & Families Duty Team. Tasks undertaken include being first point of telephone/email contact to the Public and Professionals, letter typing and distribution, minute taking, processing referrals on Mosaic, processing Police Concern forms, scanning and filing, monitoring and undertaking relevant tasks from Team mailbox, arranging meetings. Use of SBC applications such as Mosaic, Business World and Microsoft packages.

Modern Apprenticeships (MA) offer new entrants to the labour market the chance of paid employment combined with the opportunity to undertake training relevant to the occupational area. This includes the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications that help kick-start a career without having to study full-time. New entrants include school and college leavers, those with no previous work experience and/or vocational qualifications.

Essential

In accordance with Scottish Borders Councils priorities, you will need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the Apprenticeship) to qualify for this position.

Minimum of 3 Standard Grades at Level 1, 2, 3 (or equivalent), including English.
