As the Private Sector Development Officer you will help to embed homelessness prevention principles in the private rented sector in Scottish Borders by taking forward the private sector elements of the Scottish Borders Rapid Rehousing Transition Plan.

You will develop and implement key policies in relation to the Private Rented Sector aimed at preventing or alleviating homelessness within Scottish Borders. This includes research, analysis, development, consultation, reporting and seeking agreement from senior management and members.

You will resolve complex problems and provide advice and support to all staff who provide Housing Options Advice and support including legislative, systems and procedural matters.

You will need a pragmatic “can do” attitude and be empathetic and supportive but also demonstrate a robust approach to effect change.

Travel across the Borders may be required on occasion and pool cars are provided.
