This is a 38 week post, working hours will be during school term only, the salary will be pro-rated accordingly. Please note the salary advertised is full time (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)

Role Purpose

To manage / assist in the production and management of the day to day operation of the Unit. To manage / assist with the ordering preparation, cooking and serving of all foods plus cleaning materials for the Unit Work within targets/guidelines as agreed with the Unit Manager . Completion of all Cook Safe documentation for the purpose of food hygiene. Participate in the promotion and implementation Scottish Government Better Eating Better Learning (BEBL).Coordinate with teaching staff the communication of the whole School Approach to Food in Schools. Liaise with Stakeholders and customers when required to ensure customer satisfaction. Responsible for welfare and work practices of all staff. To undertake the Induction and basic training of staff as required. Responsible for the day to day administration ,Receiving orders ,Keeping appropriate records, Labeling Process of dispatch notes with all deliveries .Responsible for the implementation of kitchen hygiene and daily cleaning schedules. To undertake catering function work, occasionally out with the normal working day. Ordering of foods and cleaning materials as per the Approved Purchase List and maintaining the designated stock level as required .Ensure cost effectiveness within the Unit . Maintaining waste management records. Any other duties as specified by the Unit Production Manager or Area Manager.

Essential

City and Guilds 706/2 or SVQ 2 plus minimum of 3 year’s experience in a comparable production Unit.
RIPHH Certificate, Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.
Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate, or must be willing to achieve within 6 months.
Allergen Awareness Training or must be willing to achieve within 6 months.
