Food Safety Officer - Shetland Islands Council

£37543.87 - £39088.39 per year inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £2,541 per annum.

A relocation package applies to this post and we will pay interview expenses from within the UK.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Food Safety Officer to join our professional and friendly team at Environmental Health within Infrastructure Services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual, with a capacity to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines, to undertake regulatory and enforcement activity under legislation relating to food law, health and safety and public health.

As the successful candidate, you will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as a sound knowledge of best practice and legislation. You would be required to assist in delivery of a premises inspection programme throughout Shetland relating to food law and workplace health and safety and to ensure that the premises inspected comply with appropriate standards.
