South Ayrshire are enthusiastically embedding the key messages from the Promise, UNCRC, GIRFEC and the New Child Protection Guidance into how we care for children in families in our local area. The Signs of Safety framework has been fully embraced and has driven an improved culture of care, kindness and love for our Children and Young People. You will be part of a team, organisation and culture that is fully committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for our children and young people.

We want to support children and young people to live and learn in South Ayrshire and pride ourselves on building strong relationships with our families. To help achieve this, we are committed to a learning culture at all levels of the organisation. We have an approachable management culture who strive to be supportive, inclusive and child centred by prioritising effective supervision, manageable caseloads and promote a healthy work life balance.

In return, we would invite applications from candidates who are enthusiastic, passionate, motivated, and committed to providing a high standard of support to young people and their families to keep them together and/or connected in the safest way possible. You will have a sound value base, excellent communication and report writing skills and a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the children and families social work role and responsibilities. Candidates should work well under pressure and be able to manage competing demands flexibly, and independently. Full training in the Signs of Safety and Safe and Together models will be offered to successful candidates.
