Job Description
Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead, manage and transform the Council’s fleet of over 1900 light and heavy goods vehicles.
Working directly to the Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services the successful candidate will lead the day-to-day delivery of our Fleet Service.
Requirements
Suitable candidates will require to have the appropriate management and technical experience in the areas outlined above and will preferably be professionally qualified with proven skills in a Commercial and Operational Fleet Environment.
A thorough knowledge of Fleet Management and appropriate legislative requirements is essential.
The suitable candidate will hold a full UK driving licence, preferably a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and be able to fulfil the role of holding an operator’s licence for the Council.
The successful candidate will be based at the Fleet Depot, Technology Park, Hamilton although the Council operate a flexible approach with the ability to work in a hybrid model.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for strategic and operational activity, asset management, and service delivery across a diverse range of areas including fleet management / compliance, passenger services, workshop services, fuel management and vehicle hire.
Responsibilities will include project prioritisation, employee management, financial control, service plans, performance management, procurement, health and safety, recruitment, training, mentoring, trade union liaison, and personnel matters.
