Job Description

Requirements

Social Work Resources are committed to providing services for children, young people, families, adults and older people who are in need of advice, support and protection.

We are recruiting for Social Worker – Senior Practitioner posts within Adult and Older People's Services to provide a professional service to our client groups.

We would welcome applications from registered Social Workers with post qualifying experience.

You will have significant post qualifying experience of providing statutory social work services. You will work as an effective member of the Adult and Older People’s Services, helping us to make a positive difference in the Community.

You will provide an effective assessment and care management service incorporating any relevant statutory duties. You will have knowledge and understanding of current legislation including, but not limited to, Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007, Self-Directed Support (Scotland) Act 2013, Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000.

You will undertake casework that reflects activity of a complex nature, including assessment and management of risk. You will be involved in partnership working and provide professional advice and guidance to individuals, families and groups within the community. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to complete all formal, informal reports and case notes which need to be of a high standard.

You will demonstrate leadership skills, supporting the Team Manager in the development of the team and ensuring the objectives of the service are met. You will undertake management tasks, as delegated by the Team Leader/Fieldwork Manager.

You will provide a lead practice role within the team structure and operate at a level of expertise and competence which provides a model of good practice to other team members. You will support and mentor newly qualified members of staff and support the development and delivery of training to frontline professional social workers.

All applicants must be registered or in the process of registering with Scottish Social Services Council and hold Degree in Social Work qualification or equivalent.
