Job Description

Roads and Transportation Services is seeking to appoint an Engineering Officer/ Health and Safety Profesional to be part of the Health and Safety, Performance and Training Team.

The successful applicant should have a minimum of HNC in Civil Engineering ( or equivalent), or suitable Health and Safety qualification i.e Nebosh construction certificate, IOSH-accredited Level 6 qualification .

Applicants should have excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic, motivated and committed. Applicants should be able to contribute positively to an improving safety culture and have a strong desire to bring about service improvement across the Roads Operational Service, in a range of areas including health and safety, training, performance and quality. Applicants will also have excellent organisational and I.T. skills as well as be able to demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload. Applicants with experience of developing and implementing Health and Safety management systems and particularly encouraged.

The successful candidate will be working as part of a small team who are responsible for Roads Operations development and ongoing management of health and safety, performance and training.
