Job Description

Housing & Technical Resources require a Quantity Surveyor to join their team to assist with the day to day deliveryof Quantity Surveying Services.

We deliver an integrated Design, Contract and Project management service based on strong links between our Building Services and Consultancy Services sections and private sector construction professionals and contractors therefore having the ability to interact constructively with a variety of stakeholders and partners is an essential requirement of the post.

In this role you will be responsible for assisting in providing a comprehensive quantity surveying service on various types of projects that will include providing cost plans, preparing bills of quantities/descriptions of work and associated contract documentation, tender reports, interim valuations and final accounts. This will include development of processes and procedures with Legal, Financial and Procurement staff from within the Council to deliver robust cost planning and cost management of projects.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have a working knowledge and understanding of project cost planning, budget setting, cost management and delivery of capital and revenue projects in line with Council Standing orders on contracts and financial regulations.

With quality service provision and best value as key aspects of this role your focus will be high on customer satisfaction demonstrating commitment to continuous improvement.

It is preferred that you have a proven track record of working within a property/ construction environment and you will display professionalism and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

You should have a relevant RICS approved academic qualification in Quantity Surveying.

You will be eligible to participate in South Lanarkshire Council's Car Pool Scheme as it would be advantageous to have access to a vehicle for business purposes if required to travel to alternative locations.
