Vacancies: This is a 35 hour full time post based within, Clydesdale Local Office Lanark but with the potential for additional posts at other locations. Please apply if you think that this may be of interest.

Social Work Resources are committed to providing services for children, young people, families, adults, and older people who need care and protection.

There is a Justice Social Worker role available in the Lanark locality office and also potentially further Justice Social Worker roles in other localities in South Lanarkshire.

 

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individuals to provide a professional service to our service user groups. We would welcome applications from registered Social Workers and from Final Year Degree in Social Work Students looking to start their career as a Social Worker in the Justice Services. Final year students must be qualified within 2 months of submitting their application form.

Duties of the post include providing a Social Work service in accordance with relevant legislation; preparing Criminal Justice Social Work Reports for Courts, undertaking ongoing assessments and reviews; responsibility for the case management and joint working with other agencies.

You will have a Social Work degree with knowledge of Justice Services and a clear understanding of risk assessment and management. The ability to priorities your workload and sound assessment and writing and communication skills are also essential for this post. You will be expected to record and monitor work using electronic case recording systems.  You will be committed to working with our service users in a pro-active and non-judgemental manner in the community to address their risks and needs and promote public safety. 

Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain the department’s commitment to continuous improvement.

All applicants must be registered or in the process of registering with Scottish Social Services Council and hold Degree in Social Work qualification or equivalent.

South Lanarkshire Justice Services require all successful applicants to undertake Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) at a minimum of level 2. This is due to the requirement to access the Violent and Sex Offender Register (ViSOR ) information system.  Further information on this process can be sought from a Justice Operations Manager on 01698 453906.

Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable for any periods living or working abroad.
