Job Description

This is an opportunity to support the development of child protection work in Stirling and to enhance our effort to #KeepthePromise. The Lead Officer will provide professional support to the Child Protection Committee, under the direction and leadership of its Chair. The post holder will promote partnership working between all agencies involved in the care and protection of children, ensuring that children’s needs are at the centre. There will be a focus on self-evaluation, quality assurance and data analysis. This will contribute to an annual report setting out previous work undertaken and future priority actions. The Child Protection Committee will regularly update policies and procedures, and support multi-agency information sharing. The Lead Officer will take forward Learning Reviews and support child protection training. There will be strong links with strategic planning groups for children's services and other Lead Officer roles across the system: Alcohol & Drug Partnership, Community Justice, MAPPA and Violence against Women. The Lead Officer will maintain meaningful links with Children’s Services staff and relevant Adult and Justice Services. Collaboration with service users is key to the work of the Committee and will be central to its ethos. The Lead Officer will provide regular report to the Public Protection Chief Officers Group and will contribute to national work streams.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children & Adults.
