Job Description
As part of Stirling’s contribution to support Best Start Bright Futures, the Scottish Government’s plan to tackle child poverty, we now seek an Employability Child Poverty Co-ordinator to support our local ambitions in reducing child poverty through employment.
You will manage and monitor the delivery of wider council and Local Employability Partnership activity established to support Stirling’s employability contribution to Best Start Bright Future ensuring strong communication between relevant partners and services locally.
This activity will deliver programmes which support unemployed parents to return to work or offer employed parents support to tackle the impacts of in work poverty working to secure improved labour market positions for participants. You will support evaluation activity designed to provide details of the impact of the support provided to parents whilst also contributing to local and national reporting.
Strong partnership working and communication skills will be essential as will a current knowledge of the employability landscape in Scotland together with an understanding of the difference employability support can make in tackling child poverty.
This post is funded by the Scottish Government and is temporary for one year in the instance.Requirements
