Job Description

The Council is committed to ensuring that the delivery of quality services is at the heart of its communities and has approved a five year Business Plan. The Council is looking for a highly-motivated and professional Risk Management Co-ordinator to join the Audit Service Manager, the Chief Officer - Governance and the wider Governance service to provide excellent risk co-ordination and management services to support Stirling’s ambitions to deliver the best outcomes for its communities. You will hold a relevant risk management professional qualification and will have considerable practical knowledge and experience of risk management within a large multi-disciplinary organisation. Experience of leading the development and implementation of formal risk management arrangements including risk registers and supporting policies, procedures and working practices is vital. A good understanding of corporate governance is required, as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with client services to challenge, influence, support and provide advice and guidance to senior managers. You will be a highly effective communicator and team player, a strategic thinker and an experienced risk management professional who will have a demonstrable track record of consistent achievement. You will be able to work on your own initiative as well as with teams across the Council. Analytical skills and political awareness are needed, together with a commitment to customer-focused public services. Working with colleagues across the organisation and external partners, you will build and develop relationships to deliver solutions and improvements for the benefit of our citizens.
