Job Description

The Scottish Government has committed significant investment to local planning partnerships to enable them to build capacity and deliver transformational system change in how whole family support services are provided in each area. In Stirling this is a key element of how we will collectively keep The Promise. We want to ensure children, young people and families can access the support they need, where and when they need it. We are creating a multi-disciplinary Intensive Family Support Team which will offer families access to holistic support that is wrapped around their individual needs. Our vision is to support families at an early stage of intervention, as well as at times of crises. This support will allow families to build resilience and coping strategies with the aim that they do not need to receive support from statutory services. This team will work on transforming the delivery of family support, shifting towards preventative intervention, and in future reducing the need for crisis intervention. We are looking for a dynamic, confident and highly motivated Therapist that has substantial experience of working in children’s services. The individual will have; • The ability to influence a wide group of people and affect behaviour change • Experience of developing innovative practice • Significant experience and skill in supporting and developing others • Solid understanding and experience of collaborating with partner agencies • Quality improvement skills • Commitment to supporting Stirling Council to keep The Promise The individual will receive a high level of professional support and leadership. You will also have access to high quality professional development opportunities. As part of transforming service delivery this post could involve working evenings or weekends, in line with the needs of the service. This is a time limited post (October 2025) in line with the Scottish Government Whole Family Wellbeing Monies, with the potential for extension in future depending on the release of further funds. This team, as part of the Whole Family Wellbeing Fund (WFWF) initiative, will provide a range of different intensive interventions for families who are in crisis or only just coping, in order to reduce the number of children needing compulsory intervention. For more information or if you wish to discuss this please contact Laura Thomson, Team Leader on 01786 404040.

Requirements
