Job Description

West Dunbartonshire Council is seeking to recruit an Area Co-ordinator to lead and manage a local team of Housing staff to deliver an efficient and effective tenant-focused Housing Operations service, with responsibility for day-to-day management of Estate and Tenancy Management, Caretaking, Allocations and Access to Housing, lettings and Anti-Social Behaviour.

The post holder will be critical to ensuring compliance with statutory housing functions, requirements of housing legislation and the Scottish Social Housing Charter to ensure the highest standards of customer service and effectively engage tenants in the design and delivery of effective and efficient services that support the Council’s aims and objectives.

The post holder will require to promote and continuously improve the delivery of Housing Operations services and all its people and processes, ensuring high quality integrated and specialist housing services that reflect its key service areas. Manage the day-to-day operational activity of the area-based housing operations teams, maximising tenancy sustainability rates and reducing void rent loss and the number of void houses, support the performance of the housing operations teams through a culture of teamwork and flexibility which contributes to the overall success of the Council.

The team is primarily based in Dumbarton and Alexandria areas, however, you will be expected to be flexible in terms of joint working with our wider Clydebank Housing Operations teams to ensure a joined up high quality Housing Operations service to all WDC tenants.

Applicants must hold a relevant housing degree or post-graduate diploma and have considerable experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a housing service.

Requirements

The preferred candidate will be required to complete a Basic Disclosure check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
