Job Description

We have a permanent vacancy for a Corporate Debt Assistant at our Church Street Office/Homeworking.

The main purpose of the post is to collect rent arrears, council tax arrears, Non-Domestic Rates and sundry debt owed to the Council. The job involves carrying out interviews with customers by telephone, in the office to agree sustainable arrangements for payment.

The successful applicant with have experience of dealing with the public within a similar environment. Previous experience in the collection of council debts would be an advantage.

The hours of this post are Monday to Thursday 8:45am - 4:45pm and Friday 08:45 - 3:55pm.

 

Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to complete a Basic Disclosure check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
