Job Description

This is a fixed term post until 27/08/2027.

West Dunbartonshire Council has a fantastic and rare opportunity for a talented individual to be our Electrician Apprentice.

The Modern Apprentice will join the Council's Maintenance and Repairs team, who are responsible for carrying out in excess of 60,000 repairs/alterations, capital investment improvements and safety checks to Tenant & Owner Occupied properties Factored by West Dunbartonshire Council each year among other projects.

The Modern Apprentice will attend College throughout their 4 year Apprenticeship to gain a SVQ in Electrical Installation at SCQF Level 7. They may be required to travel out with West Dunbartonshire to attend college.

If you are aged 16-24 years (or up to age 29, if you are disabled or care experienced), resident within West Dunbartonshire, Applicants should have achieved or be expecting to achieve: National 5 Mathematics and 2 National 4’s, or 3 Standard Grades at General level 3 or above to include, English, Maths and preferably a Science subject. And/or an NPA: Skills for Work Construction Crafts or Introduction to Construction course will be considered as alternative qualifications in line with SCQF Matrix, for more information please refer to SCQF Framework.
