West Dunbartonshire Council are seeking to recruit an experienced, creative and enthusiastic Arts and Heritage Team Leader. The successful candidate will lead a motivated team, focused on raising the profile of West Dunbartonshire’s rich arts and heritage offer. This will be achieved by increasing the accessibility of museum, local history and archive collections; delivering innovative and responsive exhibition and arts development programming; and actively engaging both residents and visitors alike in events and activities that explore the stories of West Dunbartonshire.
The successful candidate will join the team at a pivotal time, with responsibility for rolling out a newly agreed Arts and Heritage strategy that reflects the ambition of West Dunbartonshire Council to deliver for its residents. The role will also be directly involved in the delivery of West Dunbartonshire Council’s ambitious culture-led Levelling Up Fund project that will see a new combined museum and library facility open on Dumbarton High Street.
Success in this role will require excellent written and verbal communication skills; a capacity for building and maintaining stakeholder and partner relationships; and will be underpinned by a demonstrable and genuine interest in the history and heritage of the local area.
