Part Time Teacher of Chemistry

We are currently seeking an experienced Teacher of Chemistry to teach classes across both our Middle School and Senior College. All applicants must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.

Basil Paterson is a small independent day school located in the heart of Edinburgh on Queen Street. For students aged 14-16 our Middle School offers a full and varied curriculum which challenges and supports our students as they work towards the first crucial exams of their learning careers. Our Senior College is a year round academic alternative to school which offers a range of subjects and qualifications for students aged 16 and over.

Maintaining small class sizes is at the heart of our teaching and learning approach with no more than six students in each class. A key and valued benefit of the school’s size is our close-knit school community. Every member of staff knows each student at Basil Paterson well. We believe this has a positive impact on learners, both in terms of academic achievement and development.

The post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Successful candidates will require PVG scheme membership and will be required to join the scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check.
