Teachers - Eden Park Academy

Eden Park Academy - Dunfermline is a newly opened school catering for young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. We have four independent schools nationally; our schools are part of Radical Services Ltd., which provides excellent quality residential care and education for young people from all over Britain.

Now that the school roll is expanding, the school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher to provide a varied and stimulating curriculum to complement our existing team. The flexible approach to the curriculum to meet the needs of our young people allows a large degree of variety and job satisfaction ffor dedicated professionals.

Due to the flexibility and holistic nature of our education experience, applications are welcome from fully GTCS registered teachers of any subject (the delivery of the curriculum will be planned around your (and your colleagues') area of expertise) who are looking for a chance to make a real difference to the life chances of vulnerable young people. Our schools cater for young people aged 11-16 but applications are also very welcome from teachers qualified in primary education.

This post offers the following benefits:

  • the chance to work with young people on a one-to-one and small group basis
  • opportunities to design and implement individualised education plans and learning experiences, catering to the academic and pastoral needs of young people
  • the chance to provide a therapeutic and high impact holisitic education to vulnerable young people; for example implementing programmes of equine therapy, mindfulness, college placements, etc.
  • fantastic work-life balance owing to small pupil groups, varied curriculum, outdoor learning and lower administrative/marking workload compared to posts in mainstream schools
  • opportunities to build very positive relationships with young people and make a real difference
  • a chance to develop professionally within the SEMH sector, the flexibility required to meet needs will require you to learn new skills in new subject areas and legislation
  • competitive company benefits package
  • full school holidays

Please see the Application Pack for more information. There is also a vacancy for an identical post at our school in Muirkirk, Ayrshire. Applications are also invited for this post.

Applications, in the form of a CV and covering letter, should be sent by email to richard.graveling@radicalservices.org.uk
