Edinburgh College have an exciting opportunity for a Nursery Manager to lead their early years setting. Waterfront Nursery is a 120-place nursery which accepts children from the local area and children of students and lecturers at Edinburgh College. We are a partner provider setting which welcomes Eligible 2 children.

We are applying for a variation to extend our overall capacity to 136 increasing our preschool intake to 80. The nursery has a satellite outdoor site and the current plan is to offer blended indoor/outdoor placements for session 22/23.

We are looking for an experienced manager with a strong preschool focus who can support and develop the current team. Candidates must be registered with SSSC as a Manager/Leader of Day Care setting and must have a minimum of 3 years management experience in a similar role.

You will be fully conversant with relevant curriculums and frameworks to support Early Years as well as being up to date with current national practice standards.

Your role will include:

Daily responsibility and running of the nursery

Leading self-evaluation and maintaining a high-quality learning environment

Working with the College Senior Management team to develop the nursery and drive enrolment

Develop effective working relationships with local professionals

Continue the current projects to develop outdoor learning and maximise the use of the internal space

Work with the Childhood Practice team to support Edinburgh College students with opportunities for placements and observations

Developing strong parent partnerships and family support systems
