Senior Education Officers - Curriculum Design

We are currently seeking applications for Senior Education Officers – Curriculum Design based in Glasgow, Livingston, Dundee or Aberdeen. These are permanent and pensionable appointments and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. You will provide leadership for curriculum, assessment and pedagogy with a focus on development and innovation within the context of 3-18 learning. You will be a leader in the National Improvement Directorate working in collaboration with other Education Scotland teams and with a wide range of national and regional partners.

Essential Criteria

1. Strong understanding of emerging national and local developments in the curriculum, learning, teaching, assessment, equity, inclusion, wellbeing, children's rights, employability and skills, and other aspects of education provision.

2. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with a proven track record of productive relationships and relationship building with partners and stakeholders within and across organisations and sectors.

3. Strong leadership and management skills with experience of successfully promoting the leadership and career-long professional learning of teams to improve learning, teaching and assessment.

4. Track record in successfully leading and delivering significant projects within the education sector that have proven impact on outcomes for learners and a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
