Lecturer - Electrical Maintenance

The Department of STEM & Construction are looking to recruit a Lecturer in Electrical Maintenance.

The Role
This role will be workshop and classroom based and will deliver SVQ and project based practical learning along with the supporting underpinning knowledge. The role will include working with a range of students from different industries, including Electrical Installation and Electrical Maintenance modern apprentices as well as full time students. While the role will be predominantly based in Falkirk there may be a need to travel to other sites to deliver classes, therefore a driving licence is essential.

You will be a qualified Electrical Maintenance operative and may have SJIB grading and current working knowledge of 18th Edition Wiring regulations. You will have relevant work experience in Electrical Maintenance programmes and ideally in Electrical Installation. You will have a breadth of industrial experience in the required subject area. While you may not have any instruction experience in a formal college setting, you may have worked with apprentices and contributed to their development and job knowledge. We are looking for an individual with a passion for their field and a desire to work with apprentices as they start out on their chosen career path. An assessor/verification qualification is desirable but not essential, though there will be opportunity for you to work towards these qualifications. Together with excellent presentation and communication skills you will have knowledge and understanding of vocational qualifications.
