For August 2023, The Glasgow Academy is seeking to recruit a Dining Hall Senior Supervisor for our School at Kelvinbridge. The post is from Monday to Friday, term-time only, and the hours of work are 7.00am – 2.30pm, with a 20-minute break.

The ideal candidate should be approachable, have a positive attitude and be able to work on their own initiative. An SVQ level 2 in catering and hospitality or relevant career experience in a school, university or high-volume catering environment would be preferable.

The purpose of this role is to support the Catering Manager and Chef to deliver high quality service during term time and any other events.

Duties

· To deliver and maintain the highest standards of health, hygiene and safety.

· Ensure the dining hall is ready for every service.

· Implement and ensure recording of daily and weekly cleaning schedules.

· Ordering of chemicals and sundry items.

· Ensure waste is disposed of correctly and food waste is recorded daily.

· Recording of any accidents.

· Organise set up, delivery and clearing of internal and external catering requests.

· Delivery of sports catering and packed lunch requests.

· Allocation of kitchen assistants’ job tasks and rotas.

· New dining hall staff induction.

· On the job coaching of new and existing staff.

· Liaising with the Catering Manager for weekly absence recording and monthly timesheets.

· Assist with till set up, operation and cashing up.

· To undertake any other tasks appropriate to the duties and responsibilities of the position.

· To assist with out of hours events as required.

· To attend any relevant training sessions.

· Approachable, flexible and good team builder and member.

· Positive can-do attitude.

· Able to work on own initiative and self- motivated.

· Ability to organise workload and delegate tasks.

Position requirements:

· SVQ level 2 in catering and hospitality or relevant career experience.

· Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.

· PVG registration (Glasgow Academy will proceed with this)

· Experience of school, university or a high-volume catering environment.

Remuneration

A competitive salary will be offered in line with experience.
