Glasgow Kelvin College is the key provider of accessible vocational and core-skills learning in the north and east of the city. We deliver high-quality introductory to degree-level programmes to around 15,000 students each year from four campus buildings and through a large network of community-based centres. Engaging with communities which experience high levels of deprivation, the College works with partners to create inclusive progression opportunities in a vibrant and sustainable environment for the learners, communities, and stakeholders which we serve.

The Apprenticeship and Skills Engagement Lead will be responsible for ensuring strong relationships are developed and maintained with their group of customers, expanding the scope of delivery to them and to ensure the College is delivering against the agreed scope of service while maintaining high standards of customer service.

The role will focus on identifying and engaging of employers across Scotland with a view to delivering modern apprenticeships recruitment targets and industry training needs. The role will also include leading the candidate review process and delivering on Skills Development Scotland (SDS) contractual obligations.

We need you to be able to:

As Apprenticeship and Skill Engagement Lead, you will be ensuring that College client relationships are effectively management and grown. You will act as the lead contact between clients, candidates, and the College for candidate reviews.

You will be conducting regular visits to employers and other partners across Scotland.

It will also be your responsibility to ensure that there are regular reviews and quality assurance reviews and that candidate records are always fully to date. You will be leading the Modern Apprenticeships recruitment process, liaising with the College teaching departments, participate in marketing and promotion of events aimed at Modern Apprenticeships

You will be engaging with employers that have potential to provide modern apprenticeships and be accountable for the development of that relationship. You will need to support the Head of Apprenticeships and Skills to deliver programmes which will involve liaising with employers, industry, trade unions, local authorities, schools, parents and young people.

We need you to demonstrate:

· Qualified to HND level (SCQF level 8) or equivalent or alternatively possess relevant experience and show evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

· Experience in delivering work-based programmes, marketing of programmes and in the recruitment and selection process.

· Understanding the labour market and economics priorities around future skills requirements.

· Effective at building relationships and good selling skills.

· To be able to plan effectively.

· Be analytical and good problem-solving skills.

· Ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadline.

· Excellent networking skills

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent ICT skills

· There will be a requirement to travel across Scotland on a regular basis.
